Its that time again!

We invite you to take part in our next Downtown Modernism Show of Sunday, October 25th:

Los Angeles's best marketplace for vintage modern design.

Market Hours are from 8AM-2PM
Admission is $5

2901 Saco St.
Los Angeles, CA 90058

Every time the Downtown Modernism marketplace returns to the Modernica factory, it's a little bit different. New dealers, new attractions, new food, and new faces. While you can always expect to find over 60 vintage modern dealers from California and beyond, here's a few other things that make the October 25th event even more entertaining than the last:

1. Book Signing and Meet & Greet with Entertainer Charles Phoenix

Charles Phoenix is a performer, humorist, chef, and author. In his live shows, videos, media appearances, and books, the self-proclaimed “retro daddy” explores America’s classic and kitschy pop cultural past and present, and predicts retro-inspired future trends. He'll have his own set of booths at Downtown Modernism where you can meet the local legend, and well as get your hands on a signed edition of one of his books about mid-century modern memorabilia.

2. Stop by the DABSMYLA Installation Takeover of our Spanish Building

Artist duo DABSMYLA presents Before and Further, a 4,000 square foot installation takeover of our stand-alone 1930 Spanish Revival workplace building, located on the Modernica factory property. DABSMYLA have fully transformed its interior and exterior with their newest paintings, sculptures, installations and exclusive furnishings from limited-edition fiberglass shell chairs and hand painted ceramics to custom-built lighting installations, all designed and created exclusively for their collaboration with Modernica.

3. See Modernica's Historic Fiberglass Shell Chair Factory in Action

If you haven't had a chance to see these historic processes in action, now's your chance. Watch as Modernica's technicians create authentic Fiberglass Shell Chairs on the original machines that Zenith Plastics used to create the first line of Fiberglass chairs in the 1950s.

4. Funky Junk Farms Brings a Collection of Vintage Restored Trailers

Funky Junk Farms is always a hit at these events, delivering a virtual playground of restored vintage trailers, vehicles, and other novelties. See and experience these immaculate examples of mid-century campers and trailers; you may even decide to take one home with you!

5. Gourmet Food and Coffee

Shoppers and spectators wont be left hungry at Downtown Modernism.  Along with our own hand-crafted gourmet coffee, we're inviting Crispy Cuban, Deano's Deli, and Sweet Lucie's Organic Ice Cream to offer their delicious wares during show hours.

If you couldn't join us last time, here's a little taste of what you missed:
